Sino-U.S. Universities Deepen Cooperation in Physics: Jiangsu University and Drexel University Discuss Dual Degree Program

Recently, the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering at Jiangsu University held an online meeting with Drexel University in the United States to discuss a dual-degree program in physics. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on core issues such as enrollment models, joint cultivation plans, and faculty exchanges, and exchanged views on potential challenges and solutions in advancing the program.

The meeting focused on the feasibility of two joint cultivation models—"2+2" and "3+1"—analyzing the specific impacts of different academic arrangements on student academic progression, credit recognition, and degree conferral. Additionally, the two parties held practical discussions on challenges related to cross-cultural teaching management and resource coordination in areas such as faculty exchanges, collaborative research, and joint curriculum development, preliminarily outlining the next steps for coordination.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the program, both sides agreed that the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering at Jiangsu University will first conduct relevant disciplinary research and enrollment promotion preparations, with specific alignment of cultivation plans and curriculum system discussions scheduled to commence next year. This meeting marks a critical step in the international collaboration between the two universities in the field of physics, laying an important foundation for the future establishment of a high-level talent cultivation platform.
