On the morning of November 9, the College of Physics and Electronics organized the 2024 Laboratory Safety Access Education and Training. The training session featured Associate Professor Wang Guoyu, a member of the university's laboratory safety supervision team, as the keynote speaker. All freshmen from the 2024 cohort attended the training, which was hosted by Xu Guidong, the Laboratory Safety Administrator.
The training content included the school and college's laboratory safety management regulations, identification and risk assessment of laboratory hazards, methods for identifying and eliminating safety hazards, emergency response procedures in laboratories, and case studies of laboratory safety incidents in higher education institutions. During the training, Associate Professor Wang Guoyu also provided a detailed interpretation of the weak points in laboratory safety management and usage based on the issues he discovered during his supervision of laboratory safety. He emphasized the importance of laboratory safety and encouraged students to always keep in mind the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost," and to follow the "Four No Harm" principle during experiments.
