On November 19, School of Physics and Electronic Engineering held "What can we do under the 'double carbon' target?" in Lecture Hall Group 202. Wukesong Lecture Hall. The lecture was given by Dean Chen Yuanping, and the undergraduate students of Physics (Normal) in the 21st and 22nd grades attended the event.
During the lecture, Chen Yuanping introduced that carbon peaking and carbon neutrality are both a solemn commitment of China to the world and an inevitable requirement for high-quality development, which is a necessary path for the modernization process. He then explained in six parts the main concepts of carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, the seriousness of global warming, and shared with the students the results achieved by his group in achieving carbon neutrality. He asked the students to enhance the awareness of "carbon peak and carbon neutral", consciously advocate a simple and moderate, green and low-carbon lifestyle, and suggested to pay more attention to the frontiers of science, expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons, and make their own contributions to achieve the goal of "double carbon".
After listening to the lecture, the students said they benefited a lot from the lecture and realized that "carbon peak, carbon neutral" is not only a national issue, but also that as a new era youth, they should play a leading role in advocating a green, environmentally friendly and low-carbon lifestyle starting from themselves.
