Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the results of the 2023 National Natural Science Foundation project review. This year, our university applied for 13 National Natural Science Foundation projects and obtained funding for 5 projects, with a funding rate of 38.5%. Previously, in the results of the 2023 Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation project review released in July, our university applied for 9 projects and obtained funding for 5 projects, with a funding rate of 55.5%. The National Natural Science Foundation is the main channel for the state to fund high-level basic research, and it plays an extremely important role in promoting basic research, discovering and cultivating excellent scientific and technological personnel. It is an important indicator of the cutting-edge innovation capability and scientific management level of a research unit. In recent years, under the background of the continuously increasing number of National Natural Science Foundation applications and extremely fierce competition, the overall quantity and quality of our university's approved projects have remained stable and on the rise, fully reflecting the high attention and strong leadership of the university's party committee to talent cultivation and basic research, and reflecting the further improvement of the university's basic research capabilities. Next, the university will continue to summarize experiences, strengthen the construction of scientific research and innovation teams, continuously improve the quality of fund applications, enhance the university's core competitiveness in scientific research, and promote high-quality development of the cause.
