Conference on the Digitization of Basic Physics Courses in Higher Education and the Promotion Meeting for the Construction of the Ministry of Education's Virtual Teaching and Research Office for College Physics Courses was successfully held

From August 25th to 28th, the National Conference on the Digitization of Basic Physics Courses in Higher Education and the Promotion Meeting for the Construction of the Ministry of Education's Virtual Teaching and Research Office for University Physics Courses was successfully held at Jiangsu University. The conference was hosted by the Teacher Training Base of the University Physics Course Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, and organized by Jiangsu University.

The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out that promoting the quality of education is an important strategic measure to build a society of lifelong learning and a learning-oriented country. The goal of this conference is to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, practice the national education digitization strategy, and promote the high-quality development of higher education. At the same time, the conference will also promote the construction of the first batch of virtual teaching and research offices of the Ministry of Education at our university, providing a platform for extensive communication and in-depth cooperation for colleagues in the teaching community of university physics courses.


The conference invited more than 70 experts and scholars from 45 well-known universities and publishers, including Professor Wang Qing from Tsinghua University, Professor Chen Min from Shantou University, as well as experts from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, and Jiangsu University.


At the opening ceremony, Vice President Yang Daojian of Jiangsu University delivered the opening speech, introducing the historical evolution and development of the university, and congratulating the successful holding of the conference at Jiangsu University, as well as extending a warm welcome and gratitude to the experts and scholars present.


The conference was chaired by Professor Chen Yuanping, Dean of the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering at Jiangsu University.

The conference agenda was rich and diverse, focusing on several important topics such as education digitization, university physics course teaching and construction in the era of science and technology, construction and reform of digital teaching platforms, and the construction of virtual teaching and research offices. Renowned educators such as Professor Wang Qing from Tsinghua University, Professor Chen Min from Shantou University, and Professor Hu Qitu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University shared their insights on topics such as learning experiences in education digitization, reflections on the transformation of education digitization and course experiments, and the construction of digital teaching platforms and teaching reforms for university physics. During the conference, 17 distinguished university physics teachers delivered keynote speeches.
